Over the past few years, quick commerce has captured the headlines, hailed as the most disruptive force in Indian ecommerce and reshaping how a billion consumers shop and receive goods. But while 10-minute deliveries stole the spotlight, another silent disruption was underway in the background—one that threatened to upend India’s multi-billion-dollar e-commerce logistics backbone.
That disruption came from Meesho.
When the e-commerce giant officially launched Valmo, its in-house logistics arm, last year, few in the industry paid attention. Fewer still thought it would work. “Everyone in the industry was sceptical about Valmo. Nobody expected Meesho to pull it off,” said a person who worked closely on the Valmo project at Meesho.
