Burgers are a multi-billion dollar business in India, with the store footprint of the organised chains growing at close to 11% CAGR over the last three years, amid intense competition between global brands and home-grown ones.
Nearly 62% of the store footprint of the top 10 burger chains in the country is accounted for by just two international brands, McDonald’s and Burger King. They run 1,246 out of the 2,018 outlets. The eight others in the top-10 list are Indian.
