Online grocery deliveries have been better this year in general. That’s largely because of the many process improvements that online grocery stores and delivery services implemented following last year’s lockdowns.
Companies are able to generate smarter demand projections and have improved their distribution and supply chain networks. They have also established safety protocols for their warehouse and delivery staff so they can continue working amid the raging pandemic.
Last year, shoppers had little option but to queue outside local stores as even established online grocers like BigBasket and Grofers struggled to cope with supply shortages and the sudden surge in demand.
