The people powering Amazon Prime Video in India

Amazon Prime Video’s country head manages a team that is building a full-stack video entertainment engine to reckon with. That stack includes original content, ad-supported free streaming, syndicated entertainment channels, rentals as well as a movie database that powers more streaming features.

Amazon Prime Video has built a team from scratch in India, with a special focus on two priorities: creating content and building a complete video entertainment engine.

In India, Prime Video is headed by Gaurav Gandhi, who earlier spent eight years in Viacom India in various senior roles, including as chief operating officer of Viacom Digital Ventures. He led the launch of its streaming platform Voot in 2016 before joining Amazon two years later.

Since then, Prime Video has produced some of India’s most prominent streaming hits, including Mirzapur, Panchayat, Family Man and Comicstaan.
