How to claim mutual fund investments of a deceased family member

While the process is largely straightforward, lining up the required documents can be tricky, especially if the deceased had not named a nominee.

We are constantly looking for ways to increase our earnings, but an often overlooked source is the money lying locked away in financial assets left behind by a deceased family member.

In October, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a nationwide campaign called ‘Your Money, Your Right’ to help people trace and claim their unclaimed financial assets across banks, companies, mutual fund (MF) houses, and insurance firms.
