Urban Company has spent over a decade teaching Indians how to book home services, from salon visits and plumbing to carpentry, AC repairs, and bathroom deep cleaning.
Users only need to open the app, select a slot, and pay a premium to have a trusted professional arrive and provide the service. This proposition has helped justify Urban Company’s higher average order values (AOVs) compared to its peers and make it synonymous with premium home services.
Over the past year, however, Urban Company has been aggressively pushing InstaHelp, its quick home-help service that promises ‘instant’ workers for chores such as washing utensils, mopping, washroom cleaning, laundry, among other basic household tasks.
