On September 12, Apple fans across the globe tuned in for the much-hyped launch of the latest iPhone variants. The tech giant announced four new models—the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The base models—the 15 and 15 Plus—boast an upgraded camera but are powered by the same A16 Bionic chip that powered the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max. The real upgrades—as was to be expected given Apple’s track record—were reserved for the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, which sport Apple’s new A17 Pro chip. Unlike the A16 chip, which was a minimal improvement on its predecessor, the A17 is a significant improvement.
